Vinyl flooring on slide

I''m planning on replacing all the carpet on our CF29CK08 Crossroads Cruiser 5er with sheet vinyl in the coming month. Several questions:
1. Do you only glue the edges or everywhere? We're snowbirds and leave the RV in Arizona full time during the summer when we are not there. Concerned about heat expansion and glue integrity while we're away.
2. For those of you that have replaced the carpet with sheet vinyl, do you need to worry about floor damage when moving the slides in/out?
3. On the 12'slide, I"m thinking of using a metal "threshold" attached to the upper edge of the slide where it meets flush to the main floor. Anyone know where I could get threshold that is 12-14 long? Otherwise, what other options has anyone successfully used for this application?
Any other suggestions or recommendations from those that have done this renovation would be welcomed.
Thanks, Monte

All I can advise is to have your glue/adhesive rolled out flat under sheet vinyl.
I learned, the hard way, that squeezing it out of a caulk gun and putting the flooring over the 'beads' of glue made for a horrendous ripple effect after a while.

You can rent a 100 pound floor roller to avoid this ridges, most tool rentals should have them. Start with a very smooth deck , so do as little damage a s possible on the removal or lay down some underlay first. I found 12 foot metal nosing at a carpet store for my slide job, have seen a variety at home depot too.

You best bet is to hire a professional. Floor prep, cutting, fitting, handling sheet vinyl is not for the uninitiated.

If your going to diy it then read glue directions because some need to be dry to touch, some go on wet, use a fine notched trowel to spread watching not to leave excess glue from edge of trowel. Glue solid not just edges. Where you can pre cut , lay it down and roll up half way, add glue and relay flooring, then do other half make sure there is not excess glue where you lap. Good luck it is never as easy as you think

Truer words were never spoken. Vinyl and wood do not expand and contract at the same rate when the temperature changes. If not securely glued down, it ridge and buckle in the heat and actually separate or crack in the cold. If you have ever used contact cement, you know, you only get one try. Once the glued surfaces are in contact (even lightly), they really are stuck for life.
