Washer/Dryer

Same here... ever since the "unfortunate incident" when I washed the fiberglass drapes with the underwear, I've been off the hook! Edited by: 5th_Time

Hi, I'm trying to decide on the right floorplan and the washer/dryer closet in the 36RL is very interesting. If I could only make it a little bigger, I might be able to put a stackable washer/dryer on one side and a small dog kennel on the other. Opinions? Well, it might not be the best solution but I just can't figure out where else to put the dog kennel. It might be a stretch to make that closet big enough for a stackable washer/dryer. If anybody out there modified that closet, could you let me know what you did? Thanks!

Be sure to look at the Full bath floorplan. You get the stackable washer and dryer, plus have a little more room in the sink area that you might find a spot to put the dog kennel. Downside to the full bath floorplan is the kingpin weight is almost 600 lbs heavier than the RL model right out of the factory.

The washer/dryer cabinet is made for side by side unit, not enough height for stackables. What about the option of a Combo Washer/Dryer? That's what we had in our Montana and now have in our RL. We were hoping for enough room for our portable freezer, but not to be, just short by several inches, so it's additional storage space. Some don't like the combo unit, but is has worked out great for us.

Just an FYI, I wish I had been aware before I spent $1700 to have the Washer/Dryer combo installed in our 36RE. I hate it. You can barely wash more than 2 outfits at a time and they usually come out somewhat wrinkled or really wrinkled. After the fact, I found out that if you put in the washer and dryer units as individual units rather than the combo, the dryer drum is twice the size which would allow for more clothes and less wrinkling!!!! In a New York minute I would trade for the extra dryer capacity. Although, I would be losing storage where the dryer should go, but I would still opt for them as separate units.

Yeah, even
our rv dealer recommended the separate washer/dryer as opposed to the combo
even though they sell both types. Sorry about your situation but thanks for the
warning. Good to know my dealer may be honest at least to a point.</span>

Tanglewood, you're so right.

But even worse, in my last 5th Wheel, I had no experience, so I bought the Washer/Dryer "Ventless" Combounit, which is the worst of all worlds... small capacity, one load at a time, dead slow drying and the spinning, spinning, spinning... Even after hours in there, clothes still felt damp when taking them out. Ugh.

Based on that, this time, had the factoryinstall the separate units in my RL.You can retrofit with new separatesif can justify the cost. The factory units are Splendide ARWXF129W (washer) and TVM63X (dryer). Several places on internet to buy them.

I was told that if you have the washer/dryer combo you should shake the clothes out between the wash/dry cycle. I guess it helps the clothes dry faster with fewer wrinkles.

Would your dog kennel fit under the table? Not sure how big you mean, but I think one the size you use for cats/small dogs would probably fit.
