Having trouble getting water into the holding tank of our 2024 Thor Scope. Don’t know if there is a valve to open it. Water won’t go in.
Help please.

You either have a kink in the fill line or a blocked vent port. Trace the lines from the tank back to the fill port.

Is the van in this video similar to yours? This guy jumps around somewhat, but this is the general idea. If yours is different, please give details. 😊

Wish we could. My husband is 86 and unable to do this easily. We got this vehicle used about 10 months ago and haven’t used it over the Winter. Now we want to use it and are having nothing but problems.
Thank you for your input. It looks like we’ll have to find a good RV repair shop. NOT taking it back to Camping World!!!

Find a good mobile RV tech to come to you.

Thank you for posting. Ours is different….it’s a Ram. We have no detailed paperwork on it. My husband tried looking for a kink or blockage and found nothing there. Now he thinks there is a dump valve somewhere on the water tank that he can’t find. He’s 86 and has limited abilities so he is very frustrated.
Are there any diagrams for this system?

There is no "dump valve" or other valve that will prevent gravity filling a fresh water tank.
There is a tank drain but that has nothing to do with filling.
Some tanks are filled with a city water connection through a redirection valve, but that is not a gravity fill like you have.

Could the tank be full and the level indicator is malfunctioning?

Not sure how he did it but he found the right valve and closed it and the water is going in now…..thanks again for responding.

So to summarize:

Water was going IN TO THE TANK
Water was NOT STAYING IN THE TANK.
That's a whole different problem than "Having trouble getting water into the holding tank"

The drain valve was left open after winterizing. Nobody mentioned water pouring on the ground.
Proper description of symptoms would have had this answered by Post #2.

A smart guy would wonder what other "winterizing" valves are out of position?

You can blame me for the poor description. I was just passing on what my husband told me and that was that he couldn’t get the water in the tank. It should have been he couldn’t keep the water in the tank.

This is a fairly new vehicle for us. Didn’t use it all Winter. Have no detailed paper work on it. My husband is 86 and I’m 82. Both of us have handicaps. We just need help once in a while.
He did say he did he did check everything he winterized now.

Glad you got it figured out. And thanks for coming back with the solution. That might help someone with the same issue.

It sounds like you need to find a good independant RV repair shop or mobile technician. They'd easily be able to help you get the rig ready to travel (and to winterize/dewinterize as appropriate). Could be money well spent...

Great! now he knows what's what as far as the plumbing goes.

I'm not trying to blame anyone. I'm trying to make this a learning experience for anyone who may come upon this thread. I'm glad he figured it out! :thumb:

I hope the summer travels are problem free.

My 20AT Tellaro (longer version of the Scope, Ram Promaster chassis) had a nasty kink in the line right where it comes into the coach, in the back- nearly closed b/c the mfr. failed to make the inner hole large enough. I had to remove the bed mattress to find the kink!
I trimmed it and worked out the kink. Took water in a lot faster.
In your case- drain valve or fill tube kink... you seem to have solved tho. Guessing low point drain was open? Water on the ground?
Also the BMPro is very unreliable. Sometimes it works and shows a reasonable representation of tank level.
If you live in a cold climate, the BMPro battery will die over winter if not 100% charged and/or removed from wall and taken indoors. Also your coach batteries are underneath the chassis, and should be 50% all winter and not in freezing conditions.
Send me a 'conversation' if you need more info. Most owners are not told anything by dealers, who are clueless anyways.
I also suggest a mobile tech- as you say NOT camping world. Search for RV techs in your area.
I've had two Tellaro's and Thor's idea of QC is no where near what mine is... I have rebuilt the systems in my RV, and know where everything is in the 20A and 20L floor plans.
If you go to Thor's website, you can sign up for more info and full set of schematics.

Sound similar to the Gemini 23TW problem. In that case there is a vent line exiting at the low point drains. The tank would empty when filling fast, or eventually drain if you fill it slowly. Then if you drove the MH the wave action in the tank could drain many more gallons.

I have not returned home yet but it looks like the classic vent line plumbing does not have the air volume capacity to vent for filling, perhaps this is why there is a second vent line.
