I have a 2022 Omni xg32 Motorhome here in Wyoming that I run every few weeks during the winter in an attempt to keep things functional. Well a little over 3 weeks ago I ran it and must have bumped the water pump switch, because today I went in to check things and heard this very mild noise toward the back…and of course it was the water pump….i know..I know…BUT. So I guess when I dewinterize I’ll have to check it out! Didn’t smell like anything had burnt or was hot. So I’m wondering if the pump might still work, are some parts obviously broke (worn out). If it works is it okay to use it? Thoughts? Thanks for all you guys do!

I doubt the pump is kaput. They seem to last a long time. Most probably get replaced when the rig is not properly winterized and the freezing water breaks them.

They are "run dry" pumps, but for 3 weeks? It may work but it may not have the flow or pressure it once did.

BTW, unless you are running the engine up to full operating temperature and driving it you are just putiing excess moisture in the engine and exhaust - not a good thing.
