Westinghouse generators

I would check the db. They look a little more "utility" than they do "rv friendly" and are probably noisy.

But I really don't know anything about them.

As I stated above 56-58 db. The feed back was only on 4 reports; all 5 star. Also on Westinghouse website there are videos with a sound comparison between the leading generators pulling the same load.

Call me a skeptic. Call me anything you'd like. I find it extremely hard to believe that a non inverter type generator, such as this, has a dB rating as low as what's advertised.

Please don't be one of those guys.

Spindrift, we won't call you anything bad!!!! 5 lbs less and .1 of a gallon of fuel per hour at half throttle with a load. WOW. I think I'm going to try one. I can always return it to Home Depot.

Not believing the noise rating I checked their customer reviews. First one I read mentioned it is a gas engine, so expect noise. Now that's a realistic comment. I might also question the fuel consumption rating.

No experience with the Westinghouse gen's. The dBA sure is low. Might check on the distance between the gen and dBA meter for the dBA rating. The percent of generator load at the low dBA reading could also be of interest. There are different methods and setups for taking sound readings. The web is a good source for this background study. How the generator is set (ground vs. within truck bed) could also impact the dBA reading. The light weight is attractive for using at home and other locations when not RV'ing. After purchase support (parts/service), especially when traveling could also be of interest. Could be worth the time to compare the Westinghouse gen overall (service/performance/cost) to Honda and Yamaha inverter type gen's. There could be a consumer type site that has published such data.
