Just purchased a 36 fl. Looking forward to it. Owned an Outback 36frl we are going to full time in 3 years so the trade in and move yp are at the proper time. Love the layout and workmanship. Our dealer is great. Camping In Style in Whitby Ontario.

Hi All,

Just made the plunge last Friday! Ordered the 38BR without ice maker and ceiling fan at Camping in Style in Whitby Ontario and then went to the Ford dealer and got an F350 diesel dually colour matched to pull her! Just waiting for confirmations and delivery dates. Hope to get both units before Canadian May Long Weekend... used to be sailers, now we own a Land Yacht!
Plan to go to Nova Scotia this summer to check out retirement property and then plan a circumnavigation of North America in 2015 when I retire.

Yes, yes, yes on all of the above. We went to the Springfield Ma. RV show and where surprised with the Redwood on display. We like most of you have been camping for a very long time. 50 years plus. From tarps-tents-popup-trailer-gas motorhome to diesel pushers. Whew! Never walked into a display vehicle that really made me feel at home. All redwood models have something to offer. We finally settled on and started the purchase of a 36rl. The only thing that I think needs addressing is the size of the shower. I'm a big guy and would have loved to have a weee bit more room. All that said my wife and I are very happy and comfortable with our choice. We are too far for a factory tour so this forum has had an impact on our decision. Oh buy the way how many of you have opted for the generator? We no longer dry camp but this will be the first time in many years to not have that back-up power. �Thanks forum Jay and Linda

We ordered the 38BR with the generator last week. Wife and I have done the same as you for 30 years but broke away from land camping with tarps tent popup and trailer to go sailing 10 years ago... that is dry camping surrounded by water... all amenities run on propane or batteries. Tried the rental motorhome last summer until we saw a Redwood RL and RE in Halifax.
Can't wait to try everything out.

I ordered our 36fl with the gen prep installed I will buy and install the gen set myself, we do not dry camp but when we winter in Iowa ice storms are a problem so the loss of power and being able to move to get power is why I opted for the gen prep.

We ordered ours with the gen. we do a lot of dry camping. With our current 5th wheel, we had two honda 2000i gen and solar system. it was cheaper to buy the genfrom the factory and have them install it, then I could buy it on line for. then I still would have to install it. sure will be nice to just push a button for the gen.

Did you take look at the FB version for the full bath...from what I gather most of you have not seen one...very similar to the RL only difference I can see is split bath with a full size shower

Jay and Linda..Welcome to our small but growing family! I too don't dry camp much at all but I opted for the generator for a emergency back-up home and for stopping along our path and taking a nap while we travel with the A/C on.

Congratulations to all the new owners. We are a growing group!!! We opted for the generator in our 36RE. There are a couple places we will dry camp for 3-5 days and felt like the gen would be needed to run AC units, TV, micro wave etc.We also considered the unforeseen power outs in full hook up campgrounds.It was a pricey decision as you well know but we are comfortable with our decision.

We had two honda 2000i's. one would run everything except the a/c. sometimes one would run the microwave, depends on what else we had on. we would hook them up in parallel to run everything, with no problems. I have friends who bought the honda 3000. they complain about the weight and sometimes they can't get the a/c to operate, because of the temp.

Did you have a single a/c or dual on the unit you used the (2) Honda 2000's

They would have only been able to operate 1 air conditioner with there Honda 2000 's in parallel even doing so it would have been close to the limit for the Honda's as they are a inverter style generator.

We have been in our 36RE for a short time and are really enjoying it. We have FT since 2005 and what an awesome lifestyle. My wife volunteers for the Corps of Engineers at Lake Waco, TX and we have a beautiful view of the lake.
