Good Morning,
We recently purchased a new 2024 Thor ACE 29G and driving this beast can be a challange.
I would like to upgrade the suspension with a set of front and rear sway bars and a steering damper, but I’m having some difficulty finding them.
Has anyone been able to upgrade their suspension?
If so What brand did you use and where did you purchase them?
Thanks!

Do you have much experience driving a large motorhome? First thing is to make sure the tires pressures are where they should be (there should be a placard to the left of the driver's seat) and perhaps consider having the front end alignment checked.

Next is to accumulate some seat time. I found a significant difference between our prior Class C motorhome and our new-to-us ACE. You sit quite a bit higher so you will move more as it sways. Takes a little getting used to.

There is also something called the CHF (Cheap Handling Fix). Ford ships the bare chassis with the sway bars (front & rear) in the softest position. Thor does not change it when they build the rig. You (or your mechanic) can move the attachment links to increase the stiffness. I did the CHF (and also changed to longer front links to keep the sway bar level). In my opinion it made a small but noticeable improvement in handling, especially when being passed by large trucks at highway speeds. There are some who advise against changing the sway bar settings so do some research and make an informed decision.

You probably already have ant-sway bars front and rear. Check them to ensure things have not come loose (particularly the rear brackets).

Are the trucks also pushing/pulling you? If so look at a steering stabilezer.

SumoSprings are a good add-on to help minimize sway.

Also, seat time helps a lot.

Seat time cannot be said enough. I just completed a TN to CA 2 week trip. Half way through, I knew exactly when a semi would push me right. I felt I could easily keep my rig in my lane, even with 15-20 mph winds. All I have safe-T plus steering stabilizer.

Seat time is your best friend. The more you drive it, the easier it gets. I did all the regular stuff to my rig, weight and tire pressures, CHF, saf-t-steer and sumo springs. Each one cost me cash, time and effort and to be truthful, I think the miles behind the wheel was the most valuable.

As has been said seat time cannot be overstated. I went from a small class C to an A and was surprised at how much difference there was in the handling. After driving our ACE for a few short trips, I was all set to fire the suspension upgrades cannon at the coach. After reading other owners' complaints about handling, I decided to hold off at throwing money at the coach till I drove it awhile. It has gotten much easier over time. The only upgrade we have made is doing the Cheap Handling Fix on both the front & rear sway bars.
