Hi, newer member here. I haven't gotten all my information from Thor yet and I have a question about an object on my 2018 Axis 24.1 roof. Small palm sized some what triangular box with two wires each encased in a rubber housing. It's toward the rear of the coach just in front of the rear roof vent. I have a water leak from the roof I'm trying to track down and haven't been able to find out what this object is. I'm using eternabond tape to seal the various openings and am just curious what this is. If I can figure out how to post a photo I will do that, but any information is appreciated. Tom

That is the connection point for solar panels. It looks like panel(s) may have been installed at one time? The MC4 connectors from the rooftop cables appear to still be inserted in the cable entry gland, but the cables are missing.

Look around your roof closely for any small holes left from the mounting bracket screws. Sounds like you're on the right track covering any suspicious looking cracks or gaps in the Dicor.

Eternabond is great stuff. I covered every seam on my roof with it.

I agree with Chateau.

Yup, a disconnected 'Gland" for solar panels.
If not going to use, I'd delete and patch with aluminum sheet metal, screw down w/ ss screws and Dicor caulk or butyl tape between, and cover with eternabond tape.
Water can go in thru that MC4 connector as it is aimed upwards and water can follow down inside.
Fan vent and AC gasket are also points of entry- so be sure to check those.

I'd scrape as much of that pile of Dicor off around the entry gland as possible. Then remove those unused MC4 connectors... just unthread, then replace the caps.

Lap the Eternabond up onto the gland as much as possible so it sheds water. Pay close attention to burnishing the tape down over the mounting screw heads until the butyl oozes out some. You shouldn't have any problems with leaks at that point.

Where is leak inside rig?

Thanks to everyone who replied

Yes I do have a water leak from the roof. It is coming through the wiring harness for the led light over the driver side bed. I have ordered more eternabond tape and plan on doing all the seams on the roof. Tom

Geocel ProFlex or Sikaflex clear are good products for sealing around light assemblies. DO NOT use ordinary silicone caulk!

2018 Vegas 24.1 was OEM “solar ready”

The solar ready package is that solar MC4 gland on the roof, and a 10AWG connecting wire pair running down and left in an unterminated coil behind or near the WFCO Power Panel.

No solar controller; that was left for the owner to purchase and install.

Besides eternabond, you could also refresh and use Dicor self-leveling sealant.
