Its a Vegas 24.1. Would it fit in one of the outside compartments? I saw room in between the frame rails in the rear, is there a winch kit? Thanks in advance!

Several people have made their own carrier for a spare between the frame rails. I know there are at least two threads about that here on this Forum.

It fits perfectly in the drivers side rear compartment.
You can store your slinky in the wheel.
Or
My water hose and electrical cord live in mine.

Pics are somewhere in my signature thread.

Mine isn't a Vegas...but have a look underneath to see if it's similar

Mine had to attachment points a few feet forward from the rear bumper on each side...on the frame rails. Tabs with mounting holes
And a third attachment point near the bumper on teh center line. It is a piece of threaded rod pointed down.

Ordered a factory rack from thor through the dealer

In the picture of the rack on the counter, the sticker with barcode is on a plate with a hole in it that mates up to the threaded rod at the rear.

Sorry, the installed pic is the best I have of it.
that's from this old thread where I posted about the carrier under my class C.

I don't recall if it was ever confirmed that they offer the same sort of rack for a Vegas, but I'll bet they do...and if they don't it would be extremely easy to make one up if the frame and space under there is similar.

My mounted spare tire came in handy when I had a blowout , I think it was on a Sunday. All I needed was a service with jacka nad tools to change it.
that said, if I had it to do over again, while I think a mounted tire is the better way to go, I'd probably save the weight and settle for a bare tire and no wheel.

Ill ck for the threaded rod. If it fits in the compartment even better. I guess i need to know the weight of the wheel vs wheel/ tire combo. I like being able to change it myself if its not the inside and have the unit ready to go if I do call svc

I try not to recommend things I haven't tried myself and almost always provide picture proof. There is no speculation about if it will fit.

The blue bags are tire chains(cables. Install pics are in my sig thread).
The things coiled in the rim are a power cord, a fresh water hose, and a macerator hose.
That's a water filter on a quick connect in the foreground.
A Ryobi 3-gallon 18v wet vacuum is also present.
And in the corner to your right is a diaper to absorb any water that may infiltrate the bin. Modern diapers can hold more than a pint and never leak a drop or even feel wet.

Unseen behind the vacuum is:
12v 10ton jack
Compressor
Torque multiplier and lug sockets
I am prepared in case the flat fixxer/tow truck guy isn't.

we are in a 2017 vegas 24.1 and put ours under the rig, between the rear axle / fuel tank, and rear bumper. we do not have levelers. I have seen that if you have levelers they are in that area and thus the tire may not fit in that area. I made 2 brackets that hold the tire and rim in place. the brackets hang on the frame and bumper mounting. look in that area and you will see a large square "hole" in which the spare fits perfectly. I would not drive without a spare. in the 4 years of full time, we have not needed it, knock on something. (I have previously posted this). I also would not be without a TPMS (tire pressure monitoring system). happy trails.

I would have put mine under as it in the post above but I enclosed that whole area with a steel bin from frame rail to frame rail and 18"(?)deep that is accessed from the floor of the stock pass-through bin.

Under is the best bet if you need cargo space.
We travel with half of our bins empty so putting the spare in the bin required no effort or thought.

The crank I posted requires just a couple of through-bolts and a hole in the bumper to use an an undermount.

Im going to go with the storage bin idea first- thanks for sharing you pics and organization!! Definitely going to have it mounted and balanced. All 6 tires are in really good shape and two years old so will buy the same brand. Bottle jack and the necessary tools. Thanks everyone!

A couple of thoughts, how much is it going to cost to buy a rim and tire and what’s needed to hold it unless in compartment. How long will the rubber stay good since you’re not using it to help keep flexible. Don’t forget compressor, tools to change tire and a jack to lift the MH. At least for me AAA is a phone call away and I will comfortable in MH waiting but then again our MH has 22” rims so tires are big to put in a compartment.

A spare tire and tools is a $500 prospect/project.

I have the tools and tire in case AAA can't come, won't come, or is inept when they arrive.
We have ford, good sam, state farm, one of credit cards, AND CASH that all provide road service.
We are covered five ways.

The tire will last for many years.

The left rear tire in the picture was purchased and mounted in 2012, has a 3012 date code (you can see under the 'R' straight up, next to the rim)and my zr2 blazer hasn't been indoors more than ten times in twelve years. This tire has never been removed from the vehicle, never washed, never treated with any gloss or preservative.
It still has nubs on it.
It was on the vehicle from 2012 until last week.
Changed because of
using the front end to drag the vehicle through bad offroad had torn up the front tires and this tire is no longer available...so five new Falken at4w.
Also
The factory spare under my 2004 avalanche is warped from being in the mount for 20 years but is otherwise like new and hasn't lost a pound of tire pressure.

One is none.
Some people only have Plan A.
Some have a Plan B.
Some of us have Plans A through G7.

Anticipate a long wait... We had AAA RV coverage and the two times we needed it the waits were unacceptably long. Many hours in one case and the next day in the other. For case #1 they wanted to tow our RV to their repair lot rather than change a tire on the side of the highway. I refused as I was afraid they'd then say it was unsafe to drive (for some made up reason) and we'd be stuck paying an unnecessary repair bill &/or storage fees. In the second case it was a weekday afternoon and AAA couldn't find anyone to come change a blown tire (inner dually). We ended up staying in a nearby hotel and I called a truck repair shop the next morning and we were on our way in less than hour.

I actually bought a $100 welder at harbor freight and learned to weld on YouTube. Got some angle iron at Lowe’s and made a frame to sit above the RV frame. Then bought a tire winch from amazon. Works great.

Im in Florida. These little 16” wheels are no big deal to change. As you say with AAA they take forever which is why I no longer have them. I have a 10ton jack for this purpose from HB and the appropriate breaker bar, socket and a 1/2 impact gun. Maybe if its an inner ai might wait but the sooner I am off the side of the road the better. I found an outlet for takeoff wheels so picking up a new wheel for 35.00
