Hi. I have a 2017 Thor Miramar. The XM 1800 inverter, every hour or so gives me a E01 and E02 code. I reset go another 20 minutes and the error codes return. I checked all the grounds, and connections everything's looks good.

Thoughts

Thank you

Both codes indicate that the input battery voltage to the inverter is inadequate (too low), either due to discharged or inadequately charged batteries or excessive load.

What does the Xantrex remote display for your battery voltage in the time before the errors occur and how much of a load do you have on the inverter?

Hi. I don’t know for sure on load. I will have to check . I believe 12.5 to 13 ?

The only thing running is the refrigerator while traveling.

Thank you

Another question. Does the inverter run when hooked up to shore power, and the display is off?

Thank you

The inverter does no work when you are connected to SP, it simply passes the voltage from your Power Center, through the inverter's integrated ATS, to the loads.

Need to check your batteries! You running lead batteries?
Your codes is error code for not enough juice

If you have turned the inverter off, it is OFF and should be drawing only a minute amount of power from the 12 volt system.
I also get 14.2 on the display when plugged into shore power.
That's good, it means your converter is powered up and is working (somewhat, at least).

That would be the supply (battery) voltage. When disconnected from shore power and no generator and with standard lead-acid batteries. It would be normal for that voltage to start out somewhere in that range and then over time as power is drawn from the batteries, will drop gradually as the batteries drain. On my XM1800, I've found that the inverter errors out with the E02 around 11.8 or 11.9 volts which is way over what the manual says it should be. Don't recall having seen the E01 on mine.

Great info. Thank you

I have 4 flooded batteries, just about 4 years old. I keep them on solar trickle charge when not in use.

You think time to replace the batteries?

One more question. While driving is the engine supplying voltage to the coach batteries, or do I need to run the generator while driving with just the small residential fridge on to keep the batteries fully charged?

Thank you

Thank you.

Does the engine battery, charge my 4 -each 6-volt batteries while driving,?

Thank you
It's *supposed* to.. However, if your coach is equipped with a BIM, it's likely wired backwards so it may not work well, if at all.

As macdaddy1111 mentioned, turn the inverter on and check the displayed voltage. If the running engine is charging the batteries, the displayed voltage will be over 12.6 volts, probably closer to 14 volts.

Unknown at this time, insufficient data.

Thanks. I know my batteries read 100% charged at storage on solar. Not sure if BIM is working, I have to check. Could that be giving me e02 code, after 20 minutes of driving?

I suspect every time your residential fridge starts there is insufficient house battery power. If you have FLA, 4 year old or older batteries, they need replacing.
