Alarm to protect solar panels— any ideas?

I’m looking for a way to alarm or somehow deter future CROOKS from stealing another solar panel.
This group always has great ideas — I would appreciate the input.

Thanks

Don

This is becoming an issue. I have found several instances on YouTube.

I bought this motion sensitive alarm kit and installed it under the MH near the catalytic converter to deter thieves. Works pretty good except for the occasional squirrel. Your installation may be subject to occasional birds.

Do you have a part number, name or picture. Where you bought it.

Remove your rear ladder. Can’t steal what they can’t access and I doubt thrives are carrying a ladder around.

What if you used inverted star, torx or some sort of special head bolts? Kind of like people put wheel locks on tires. Nothing is full proof. All you can do is make it harder to deter people. Pulling the ladder is a good idea.
First I have heard of this being a common thing. I’m assuming it happens mostly when boondocking?

Stealing solar panels is not common, certainly not while boondocking. Boondockers are generally good people and the remoteness cuts down on potential thieves.

I like the idea of using star or torx bolts. That probably will cut down potential thieves to a minuscule number.

Why could you make an alarm similar to a merchandiser alarm, unhook the wires tabs alarm goes off.
Using a normally open switch tied to a high decibel siren, they cut the power wires switch closes and siren goes off.
