Cleaning fresh water tank

I read that bleach should be added to the gravity feed to clean the fresh water tank in my 2023 Thor Delano 22T. Does anyone know where the gravity feed is?

You should have something that looks like the attached photo below somewhere on the side of your RV. Can't really tell you exactly where because I cannot find a photo of a Delano 22T, are you sure it is a 22T instead of a 24TT?

It doesn't appear your Delano has a gravity fill FW tank. Configure your water valves to fill the FW tank, Pour a 1/2 cup of bleach into the empty fill hose before you connect it to the RV, connect and fill the FW tank.

Use the sanitizing procedure for your rig.

An alternate procedure if you have a built-in water filter with removable filter element canister:

1. Partially drain fresh tank.
2. Turn off water.
3. Bypass hot water heater. Some hot water heaters could be damaged by chlorine.
4. Bypass / turn off Ice makers.
5. Bypass Water softener
6. Remove all filter elements.
7. Put the appropriate amount of bleach with a little water in one filter canister.
8. Replace all canisters with filter elements removed.
9. Engage the tank fill function.
10. Turn on water until tank is full.
11. After tank full switch back to tank draw.
12. Turn on pump.
13. Run water at each station until you smell chlorine from both the hot and cold side.
14. Let sit for 24 hours. I think you can get away with as little as 4 hours.
15. Drain fresh tank.
16. Replace filter(s) reconnect softener.
17. Refill fresh tank keep drain valve open for two or three minuets to flush residual bleach mixture from fresh tank.
18. Turn on pump, run hot and cold at each station until you no longer smell bleach.
19. At this point I'll drain and flush / de-scale the hot water heater. That is a whole different procedure.

Wouldn't work with my filter as it is in the high pressure header after the pump.

Mine connects between the city connection and the campground hydrant and filters all the water going into the fresh tank. Any filter set up after the water pump would not work with hits process. It does bring up a good point in that you need to bypass any filter installed after the water pump. The bleach would probably compromise the filter.

I've never sanitized any fresh water tank over the last 4 RV's. We are careful with quality of water we fill it with, go through it often and drain it if storing for more than 2 weeks or so. We don't drink, cook or make coffee with it...just shower. We carry tons of spring water...that's all Bugsie drinks as well. Traveling through so many different water sources, including unknown quality of well water at some campgrounds is scary.
