I wish to issue a Scuba "Wise" Wind Advisory for New Mexico

I think the story speaks for itself, but a large RV got flipped in the mountains of NM

I ain't going unless I get an all clear from Scuba There are lots of areas in West Texas, New Mexico, Colorado that warn of high winds and you can just feel the gusts. But this is alarming.

Wow amazing story. Thx for sharing.
Whenever big wind out here, stabilizers go down.
The Vegas is low to the ground so maybe ok.
Glad no one was hurt.
We love the Newmar Baystar.
If we hit the lottery the Baystar is 99%!
If coming to amazing Las Cruces check the wind report.
BTW nothing is worse than Montana or Wyoming for wind!

I was traveling from Phoenix to McAllen Texas during that time. If I remember correctly, we traveled from Apache Junction AZ to El Paso Texas March 1. The last bit getting into El Paso was white knuckled driving. I remember the dust in the air obscuring the mountains heading into El Paso. It then took another two days to reach McAllen from El Paso. The first day took us to a campground just west of San Antonio. That drive was not too bad, we had a 40 - 50 MPH tailwind so long as the wind was directly behind us it was ok. But if the road turned a little south or north the motorhome was all over the road. We got the best gas mileage ever on the motorhome that day.

My son flew to Dallas; so tomorrow we will take RV to the Boston Mountains (Northwest Arkansas) No campsite no reservation, but we going

2,000 ft elevation but winds only 3 mph. There is one tunnel we will have to go through but all propane will be off.

I don't get to make long trips, but I find plenty of weekend getaways to get back at work Monday. The DW flew to New Orleans this morning, so I can really ruff it if I have too.

Based on temps, does not look like we will need any shore power, and I don't have or need any solar; but guess we will run the genny maybe 3 hrs a day for ACs when it hit the 80s.

No Toad needed yet.... but I will have the toad on one of these trips soon enough.

This is scary!! We have been traveling home from Arizona the last couple of days, and the wind has been brutal! Today we are heading to just outside of Dallas from Lubbock. Last night in Lubbock we had to bring our full wall slide in because we were afraid the wind was going to take our slide awning/cover.

The Wind in Las Cruces NM can be fun !
Drive slow
Single slide out awning tested many times in 3 years with winds up to 75+
In Wyoming Montana NM
No issues. The awning has a roller that absorbs the wind ..it retracts and goes back to neutral

The only time it is not windy in Texas is when you want a little wind. I.E. 99+ and 80% humidity.

We’re on I40 between Oklahoma City and Amarillo. If the crappy roadway won’t beat you to death, the wind will.

Been through that area when not much wind was predicted. Well on the road and got an alert. Drove faster than I usually do to get to our RV park about the time high winds were expected. Several semi's flipped. I always stay, drive the other way, leave sooner, and do what ever it takes to not get caught. So far so good. Left two hours early once north of Oklahoma city to make it into the pan handle of Texas to miss the predicted weather. Tornado set down where we were and would have been had we not left early. If you knew my wife, getting her up to go is not her thing. She does not complain so much since then.

I made the trip Dallas to Midland a few times, once you get past Abilene going West, it starts to get unpredictable. Few High Winds signs up and I slow down for each.

I keep my slide in for high winds too. To be honest, I even bring it in for rain if I can do so before the rain starts. Once wet, I don't sweat it. We love that full wall slide out, because when needed, it makes the coach gigantic

We love the full wall slide, but it did make us nervous that night.
