Yes the kitchen outlet can be connected to this outlet. It does need replaced. You may just have only one GFI. Any outlet you find with 2 sets of wires must have power in and power
out.

That is a standard outlet. It is controlled by a GFI Receptical. Is there power here? If there is power in and out the bathroom and not here then you have another GFI outlet someplace.
