We have a Playstation Vue subscription (note that No Playstation is required: You can watch on mobile devices, Roku, Apple TV, etc.). We cut the cord right after PSVue started (2 or 3 years ago now).
Once you "Like" a show it automatically DVR's all airings and you can watch them whenever you want. In addition, many shows are also available "on demand".
What I've really liked about it is that I can go to the grid, scroll back in time and watch just about anything. Miss that premier you forgot about, simply scroll back to it and click on it. Works great.
I've even used it to watch shows from home when I'm out of town (although it does warn you that you're in a different area than your "Home").
You do need a pretty good internet connection for it, however. Keep that in mind for any streaming service.
