The tester Jamie referenced is the best way to check that the factory wired the plug correctly and completely. Sometimes they only wire the lights and have the wire for the power capped off. You might have to finish having the plug wired. But using the tester will be the fastest way to check what you have and don't have.
... and don't forget, one of the pins is for ground (pin 1 I think).
