Snow 'Bird
The car hasn't seen rain or mud or snow since 1972ish.
Always kept inside, always climate controlled. Never wet, no dew, no condensation.
3,000+ miles since 1975.
I had to move it from the shop to the house garage to be out of the way for the Christmas party and we still have a bit of snow. I don't want someone with a belt buckle leaning on the paint so they can get a better look.(early Camaro assembly line paint blemish. It took GM months to figure it out.)
I imagine the poor thing must have thought about snow like how a cat must feel about falling into the baby's bath.
The Thor and everyone else are getting their tired asses parked outside.
I'm going to drive it every time we have fair weather.
If I don't put 20,000 miles on it... I have failed.

I use axle grease, after the connection is clean and secure, it also makes it easy to disassemble.

Terminal connecting surfaces; as long as they have a metal shininess, I am happy, if it's sandpaper or a knife blade to scrape at the surface.
At the metal to metal mating surface of the connection, I use a deoxidizer grease.

The spousal unit just pulled the 24.1 into the Behemoth(my shop)as I was standing in front of the RV.
I had never seen the lights on bright with the light bar from an oncoming perspective.
The glaring one is from miata height view
The other is from truck height view.
The light bar lines up nicely with the factory led's.

Legal enough.
It's a fix it ticket if they need to roust you for something and it isn't legal.
From what little I've researched most state laws still are
'4 white light maximum'(some are 6 to account for fog lights.)
on the books.
So my led driving lights are already illegal if it need be written up.
I'm also not sure how we're getting away with just two 5.75 headlights.
state laws in (I think) all states, maybe federal, require 4 of them since 1958.
Punchline:
No one, including police know Legal light from not legal since about 1984 when shaped headlights became legal.
But I'm sure light bar is considered by all to be on the edge. And probably even specifically coded against.
I'll run one anyway.
Mine comes on with the brights and goes off with the dims.
It's controlled through the fog lights switch.
The wiring is somewhere in this thread.

Appreciate the boneyard offer, but other than the front fender rust, all parts are in good shape and functioning well. Just need a good body and paint shop, when and if we decide to pull that that trigger.
PS)This T-Bird spent the majority of its life garaged in Nashville...

A couple of pages back, a couple of people posted about how few things they've had go wrong on their Thors. Mine is a 1995 that had 53k miles when I bought it. During the time I've had it, I've had only three relatively minor engine problems. (Alternator, alternator belt, EGR valve.) Plus some relatively minor water intrusion through a window frame that had become dry-rotted around the outer seal.
Everything else I've put into it has been mods and upgrades done for my own reasons. Be they convenience or charm or what have you.
None of that necessarily reflects on Thors built more recently. Just sharing my experience with a more vintage model.

Had 53,000 miles when I bought it in January 2021. Now has just over 64,000. I have taken it to 16 states in 2021.
More adventures (and upgrades) await!

Almost every seal profile since the beginning of seals.
(For those of us with odd projects like that beautiful rig above)

$4.79 per gallon for 91 octane today.
$120 for 25 gallons+-.
The price of horsepower.
That is all.

Sometimes I just have a problem when people whine about a loose screw on their thor.
Fix the problem.
Your dad did.(or maybe he didn't and ay, there lies the rub)

No clue if my dad did. He left when I was 3. Otherwise, I agree with the sentiment. The best way to know it's done, and done right, is to do it yourself.

Trooper Pitt ditches woman in an RV.
She's doing 85mph while missing an entire front tire and running on the rim, but some of us can only muster 60 in a 75....
Talent.

I'd been sitting on these in my Amazon list for far over a year.
They're here now awaiting install.
I think they're as good as can be had for an axis.
DO NOT order them until I get these installed. They might need an adapter for the wiring.

Wednesday we get all the windows, including the windshield, tinted with zero tint ceramic film.
We're not sure how much money yet.
New windshield due to a crack is what set this off.

Will look for your report. I would like to install some head lights that are simple to aim and install.
Thanks

Like tying a B17 tail that is almost running away during the flight using the CONTROL cables that where severed when a BF109 that was trying to kill them hit their plane...
Just like: Hey Johnny, let that .50 cal for a sec and come here to tie these knots...
I went to a school board meeting recently and I can assure you they are more dangerous to America than that BF109...
