Lippert Levelers Control Panel Hysterics
The RV had been sitting for just over a week and when I started it to drive it to the reupholsters, the control panel beeped and flashed, and the pump motor turned on for a second or two. Then I saw a warning on the display. This is not unusual, since it has done this many times in the five years since we bought the RV. I replaced the control panel a year or so ago because it stopped working altogether. That cured the beeping and flashing problem for a while.
As I normally do, I pressed the enter and retract buttons to remove the warning message and then pressed the on/off button. Then I started moving and within several feet, the panel started flashing and beeping and showing more warning messages like "jacks up, emergency, service", or something to that effect. I went through the process several times and each time after moving for 100 feet or so the panel would go into hysterics again.
Then I noticed that the "use/store" switch was in the store position, so I set it to use, and pressed the buttons on the control panel to stop the beeping, flashing, and message. Then I drove off and nothing happened for about a half mile. Then the hysterics again.
Finally I stopped, parked, set the parking brake, and deployed the levelers, then retracted them. Problem solved.
Do you think that I jumbled the circuitry by driving with the '"use/store" switch in the store position?
