Air Compressor for my RV Tires
I am looking for a better/smaller air compressor to carry on-board the Motorhome.
I want to be able to put 100 psi in my tires reasonably quickly.
What do y’all recommend?

I use a PORTER-CABLE C2002 Oil-Free UMC Pancake Compressor. Bought it on Amazon. Works great was less than $100.00 when I bought it.

Find yourself a Viair 400P or the more expensive RV model and you’ll be happy for the rest of your life!

I have a portable Porter Cable that works great around the house but from what I've read and seen on YouTube videos...the Viair is the way to go. Getting one this week. Most of the "home editions" do not put out the "volume of air" (CFM's) to work efficiently. Pete is correct...only way to go.

I've got one of these that I bought for motorcycle tires and it works great for touch ups on the RV. I'm not sure I'd want to fill a flat tire with it though.

It would probably burn it up before you got to proper inflation.

Looking at the Viair website does not make me want to buy one of them. They only put out 1.28 cfm at 90 psi. The Viair might be great for passenger tires but doesn't have the cfm for bigger tires.

Point taken. It will take a bit of time but the device can handle it. And actually that’s a pretty good output for its small size. For me at least, size matters.

The Viair 400 RV puts out 150 PSI / 2.30 CFM.

I THOUGHT so! Thanks for looking it up. I knew there was a reason I bought the RV model over one of the lesser ones. It sure does the job on my 19.5 inches - though I’ve never had to inflate one from empty.

I wont argue, but the Viair website says 1.28 cfm at 90 psi. It does 2.3 dfm at 0 psi. https://www.viaircorp.com/portables/400p-rv-auto

Air compressor for RV
Viair is the only way to go. Excellent portable compressor. A little pricey but worth it.

I have the 400P-RV. Nothing better for the size and weight. It comes with long enough hoses to reach all tires and the double ended chuck for inside tires. A bit pricey but so was your coach.

I got the 450p rv and it is pricy but I want to make sure I had one that would work when needed.

whatever you do, DO NOT get this one
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1
I bought it becasue it was small enough to fit in the bin where I wanted it...but it's basically one of those little cheap cigarette lighter inflaters intended for small bike tires or beach toys....mounted on a small tank. Very loud to run and it takes hours to just fill up the little tank, well it seems like it at least... and of course the tank is so small that it has to refill several times unless your tires are like 1 or 2 psi lower than you want.
I kept it only because it fit, it would be a hassle to box it up for return, and it's good enough for emergency issues.... well, better than nothing.
If I had it to do over I'd get a standard pancake or hotdog compressor, like 3 gallon or so, from my local Lowes hardware store or Home Depot, and just figure out a different place to stow it

This what I use with 30 ft of 1/4" air brake line. I carry it under the right dinette seat.

I bought a super small compressor at Sears for under $60, and it will pump our 16" Vegas tires from 50 to 75 psi in just a few minutes. It has no tank, so doesn't take up much room in storage, and runs on A/C that I can supply with the generator.
I have it for emergencies, not everyday use.

I have the Lowe’s inflator. Bought one for home use and liked it so much I bought one for the RV. 12volt or 110. Has LED light for those times you find a flat after dark.
