I don't believe it does - simply because it is reversible. When you buy the 5 Star tune it comes with the electronic device to install. One of the steps for install is to read and store the current/factory tune. If in fact you need to do service and you are at all concerned, re-install the original tune. The change is not tracked. Hope that helps.
