There isn't a crossover with the tankless water heaters, but if the outside shower had the valves open then that would act like a crossover and the tankless system doesn't perform properly.
We just leave our heater set to 118 degrees and only mix in a small amount of cold if needed. We also installed an Oxygenics shower head that made a world of difference.
