drawers pulling apart at the staples

My drawers are falling apart. Now, before you jump to any conclusions, I'm talking about the ones in my Compass. The face of the drawer (with the handle) is pulling apart from the sides of the drawer. I can see the metal staples, and I have managed to gently push is back together. However, I need advice from Thor or members of the forum. Can I glue the drawer and clamp it? Should I use wood screws? Wood screws and glue? Thanks for your suggestions.
