It doesn’t matter what is turned on in the RV. I had to use a external charger to charge my house batteries. I have since run a 50amp so I do t have to worry about it.

What is turned on in the rv. If you don’t have anything turned on you have a short circuit. That should blow a fuse. You probably have some load turned on. Turn everything off then plug it in
