Safety guard rail when overhead bunk is lowered.

So first off I had a mattress cover (not thick) over mattress. Nothing else. Dealer said it would void my warranty if motor failed. So they removed it.

Secondly, I don’t want to install the safety net with seat belts, don’t want to drill holes in ceiling. I’m interested in a guard rail that can be moved stored when we don’t use with grandkids. I didn’t know if IKEA rails would clamp on the wood lip of the frame? Looking at Amazon looks like most baby rails fold down but the mattress sits lower than the frame so not sure these would work? I don’t think the pool noodles or bumpers are safe enough for the height of the bed.
