Closet hanger dowel support

I used to get angry, but now I just laugh. I’m doing a demolition of a closet to install an electric fireplace. Took the inside panel off to get started and noticed Thor installed a nice 3/4” thick wood puck as backing for the hanger dowel screws, sandwiched between the veneer. Nice. Only problem is the wood is 4” high, and the dowel screws were exactly 4.1" down. [emoji1787][emoji1787] You can see the splinter where one of the screws alllmost made it. oh well. So close, Thor. So close!
