Being familiar with durometer just curious.

Well, he recommend the 107-54 because they were cheaper and easier to install. He also mentioned that they were great if you were towing.

A fellow by the name of 2FORCEFULL who owns a shop in Cali has done some serious homework on these springs. He has a fantastic video on You Tube:

My biggest beef is that the Sumo Solo 107-54 is not really doing its work if it is not engaged or slightly compressed initially. My other beef with the the Sumo Solo 107-54 is that it is offset above the axle. It doesn't make contact dead center on the axle. So when it is engaged it catches or makes contact with the edge of the Sumo Solo. It looks like Sumo Spring just made a Sumo Solo for the rear bump stop on the e450 without looking at how it made contact.

However, the 106-40-1 is fully engaged because it is mounted differently. It seems truly functional.

I'm just trying to use my intuition. Who knows...I could be way off here. My intuition got flushed down the toilet when I got married to my lovely DW!
