Electrical anomaly - repair or not?

OK, so I spent the holidays up north, I live in So Cal, when I hooked up to the electrical in the park I was staying, everything checked out correct, (using 50a). It was late in the day so it was getting dark. My wife pointed out that the porch light was on. That was odd to me as I hadn't turned it on. I went to turn it off and it was in the off position already, it is now staying on, in either position. I shut the power off from the pedestal, and the porch light works as it should, turn power back on same thing, it stays on. This is the only device that this is happening too. So to further explore the anomaly, I un-plugged the power cable and started the generator, yep, works just fine. Plug power back into the pedestal and the same occurrence, light on all the time. It didn't really bother me as nothing else was effected by it. But I would sure like to know WHY? Now I've been around electric all my life, and this is a first. I have a Progressive Surge Protector, and it had all correct numbers showing.

Any thoughts?
