I put a knife switch on the + terminal and have been concerned about the fact that one side of the switch is energized even when the switch is open. I might change to the - terminal. I thought there might have been another reason for using the - terminal to disconnect the batteries. The answer above that states that when the negative side is disconnected in essence removes all of the steel in the RV from the house battery(s) makes a lot of sense.
