Outdoor Kitchen - Tips, Tricks and Setup
Many of us have rigs that have the optional (or standard equipment) outdoor kitchen. I thought it would be nice to have a thread to discuss any tips and/or tricks we have found in the use of the outdoor kitchen. We can also share our ideas on how we setup the kitchen for use during camping trips.
My prior class c had the outdoor kitchen and when upgrading to the Class A we would not consider any coach that did not have that option.
Please post away and if you have a particular setup please post the pics.

Does anyone have recommendations for a good 2 burner portable grill that can be retrofitted to run off the on board propane at the outdoor kitchen?
I would like to replace the single burner Aussie with something that will allow for indirect BBQ'ing as well as direct heat grilling. The problem I have found with most is you cannot close the lid when trying to do a beer can chicken.

Back from our first shake down weekend, and got to set up my outdoor kitchen. Here is what it looked like:

And from another angle:
If you look closely, on one table you can see the induction hot plate ready to cook omlettes, and on the other table is the grill and toaster. I set the grill table perpendicular to the coach to make the workspace flow nicer. If you look very closely in the actual outside kitchen, you will see I installed both spice holders, a soap dispenser and an over the door towel holder.

I was used to a full outdoor kitchen in our travel trailer....fridge, microwave, sink, two burner stove. We never used the indoor kitchen.
Was disappointed to find that motorhomes in my price range only came with fridge, sink, and grill. So, for our Windsport 34J, I bought a 3 burner outdoor stove and quick connect cable. Then bought a Y adapter so I can use both the stove and gas grill at the same time.

I purchased a Camp Chef 2 burner stove and oven. Retrofitted the connection with a quick connect and now I have 2 viable options for cooking. However, using a Y connector to hook up both at the same time is a great idea.
The only drawback is when its raining and I need to cook, the access door hinge leaks. I have been looking for a gutter to keep the kitchen dry, but they only come in white or black. May have to custom paint it myself with the touchup paint to match my coach.
Anyone have any better idea to keep the water from leaking from that hinge?

Do these outside kitchens have running water and sinks? If so, what do they empty into? Did the manufacture plumb the drain into a grey tank?
I have never owned a rig with an outdoor kitchen.

Lloyd,
Can only speak to mine, but my sink is fully plumbed and drains to the grey tank.

We love our outside kitchen! We use the fridge to store drinks which frees up space in big fridge. Found an upright paper towel holder at Wal Mart that has suction cups on the bottom, put one inside and one outside, work great. Keep BBQ utensils in the drawer, extra salt and pepper in the cabinet.
