Palazzo 36.3 Owners

I'm seriously considering trading my 2017 ACE 29.4 for a 2018 Palazzo 36.3. This would be a considerable step up for me in both price and size. But I like the extra room, the bath and a half and the increased sleeping options.
For owners of the Palazzo 36.3...Are you happy with your rig. Can you give me a quick rundown of the pros and cons?
Thanks!
Moondoggie

Moondoggie, I anxiously await any responses you get. I'm considering the same thing, upgrading from my 2017 ACE 30.3 for the same reasons. Have considered the Palazzo 36.3 and 36.1. I have also thought about the Challenger 37FH or 37TB. Would love to hear from owners of any of those models.

The only thing I hate about the bath and a half is two black tanks, each with their own connection and valve.

We have separate San-T-Flush connections on our two black tanks in our Hurricane. I would guess that the Miramars and Challengers do as well (for those units with the bath and a half and two black tanks.)

The Palazzo does not on the rear tank. I use a clear fitting with a hose connection to blast water back into the tank. it's not perfect but it works.

That is surprising for a newer higher end unit! I wonder if they just missed it and it SHOULD be there.

Good question. If it isn't there, that is either poor planning or a poor decision. Having two tanks and the San-T-Flush on only one of them is non-nonsensical. Of course, I once heard from someone much smarter than me, "Expecting common sense in others shows you are lacking in it yourself."

I just spoke with a rep at Thor. The situation with lo-tec's coach is not unique to his. Thor did not put a San-T-Flush in the second black water tank in the Palazzo. He said that would be changed in the next model year (2019). We will see.

I have a Flush in my 2017 Challenger, but of the 3 tanks, only one is black. Other 2 are grey.

I think you have the 37YT, right. It would only have one black tank because there is only one bath. The 37FH and TB both have a bath and a half, so two black tanks, one for each bath. I've just found out today that the Palazzo with a bath and half has the two black tanks but a tank flush system only for the one. That is not good, IMHO.

I just find it strange that our 2016 Hurricane has San-T-Flush for both black tanks but a diesel pusher doesn't. I guess you never know...

Yes, that is certainly strange. The factory rep told me this morning that would be corrected with the 2019 Palazzo. We'll see.

I have the 36.1 and only the main Black water tank has the flush system. Went to CW and bought the one you drill the hole in the tank for and added it. there is also a plug on the right side of the tank about the dump valve, but I could not get the new spay valve to fit there. I thin the coach was supposed to have teh second line but didn;t - all set for the next model year through.

Need some information from other 36 Palazzo owners: doe you have an engine compartment hatch in your rear bath? I think I could have one, it looks to be cut from underneath but the rolled flooring covers any access - did Thor screw mine up, or is no access panel normal? Thanks all

My hatch is covered up too. I need to see howvvto get that fixed. I'm hoping the hatch is there but covered by the flooring.

every diesel pusher will have access to the top of the engine - and while many have it within the 'step up' area in the rear bath, or even rear closet, my 33.3 is actually right under the bed, which is on a raised platform. I finally removed my carpet from within my bed platform and found my 'hatch' just last week, after 4 1/2 years and 92,000 miles of ownership. Apparently I've never needed to access it, but it's nice to know it's there if you needed to.
There were about 4 screws holding down the cut-out plywood access, with a metallic backing attached to the underside.

I believe that Thor(TMC) does not normally provide a 'pre-cut' floor for these in the Palazzo models... The access is already there, but there's really no reason to go to the trouble of cutting the floor and having to then provide a trim setup for something that may hardly ever be used.

If you really want to 'see' your access, you'll have to feel around the area and cut carefully, and then you'll have to install some sort of trim package once you're done.

also, many other diesel pushers have different flooring, even hardwood or tile flooring, so, yes, the factory must pre-install an access panel - but with roll flooring, or carpet, no, the owner can do that 'if' they ever need to access it.

I think they change it around to suit themselves. Mine has the trim ring and 8 or 10 screws holding it down. They just never cut the flooring. Next time during pdi I'll make them show me it opens instead of tell me where it is.

I'd rather not have a trim ring, myself, and just cut it when the time comes that I really 'need' to have access to the top of the engine, which could be years. A trim ring is always there, and in the way. I like that mine is under the bed, though it's doubtful I'll ever need to access it anyway.

I didn't get a choice. Plus mine's in the rear bath. We keep a rug over it so no worries. Only I know it's there, mocking me with its missing cut [emoji1]
