Hurricane Couch material

I closed my couch bed the other day and there was some metal on the side that rubbed on the arm rest and now there are small little white specs where the material is peeling. Is there a way to preserve this? I ended up putting some cloth tape over the metal area to prevent it from doing that anymore.
Other than this spot the rest of the furniture is in excellent condition.

There are two kinds of cement.. That which has cracked and that which has not cracked yet.
I'm afraid there are also two kinds of Faux leather in a hurricane.. That which has pealed and that which is about to peal..
My only solution had been to see an upholsterer.

Put a piece of clear packing tape over the area and keep on traveling.
