I called lippert and after doing a reset sequence he asked me how many batteries I had and what brand. I told him two unknown (Thor defaults) and he said I just need to make sure the engine was running. That has solved it for me. He stated that the pump uses a lot of power and many generic batteries drop voltage quickly when the pump turns on. So the alternator helps provide enough power for the pump.

I never have a problem with the engine running. Some others on this thread seem to have stickers that state the same.

When you test the voltage, that is usually without a load. Watch your voltage while operating a slide, you will notice a large drop that returns street the slide stops.
