Oy, you've got a tough one. First off "dirty poer" is bs. Ask him to put that in writing for the deposition, lol.
I'd start by swapping the 2 GFCIs, or replace the troublesome one. Unplug everything on that circuit and watch. You have to sleuth it out by elimination even if it's disconnecting outlet by outlet.
