We never even bothered with the air mattress! We bought a queen size 4" memory foam mattress that we folded and put in the shower area when we were travelling. It was perfect. I sold my unit last October and bought a Georgetown simply becasue it was alittle too small for us and the kids. Otherwise, we really had no issues with the Axis.

Matt, what mattress did you purchase for the rear area? I just purchased a used 25.1 and saw that there is a fold out sofa in the rear but I cannot find what to put into it, it seems like an air mattress was supposed to go there but it was not included with mine. I would probably need to fill that area and also get a larger mattress to fill in the entire area. I was thinking of something like this:
