Whether to cover or not depends on how long you plan on keeping the unit and how much value you expect to get out of it when you sell or trade. An RV exposed to the elements will slowly deteriorate over time. Rubber will dry out, fiberglass will fade, seals with shrink, graphics will dry out and start to peel, etc. Some of this can lead to leaks which then start to deteriorate what's underneath. I keep my unit under a 3/4 closed in RV carport in hopes of keeping it for many years to come.
