Air system

Decent on-board compressor air system without breaking the bank.
Thor FE22. To keep tires inflated, rafts pumped up, etc...

Our Aria has one for the coach and a quick connection for tires or what ever. Depending on room maybe carry a pancake compressor. We have just a 12 v for the Jeep and our other car came with one and a bottle of sealer. Take a while but will get the tire ti 30PSI. Not sure about your rigs. Mine is 90PSI full would be ok running 70 in emergency for a short run if roadside can’t get to me for a while.

Do a search on potable air compressors and read all about them. Probably a hundred recommendations on the forum.

Totally agree on a Viair. But they make scads of models. Choose carefully and you’ll have a partner for life.

I bought the RV specifc one...can't remember model number but has 2 hoses and the nozzle reads pressure as you inflate. It was high on their offerings but what a product.

After my lithium install, storage space is getting scarce so my trusty pancake compressor has to go... biting the bullet and getting a Viair.

Just be sure and run the engine when using as they recommend. This thing draws amperage like a Clydesdale. The tech told me, the sudden, strong draw can trigger other issues and red flags in the CPU. Don't use the house batteries...chassis batteries only.

Hmm, I didn't know you are not supposed to use the house batteries. I have been hooking up to the house batteries since we got the VIAR. They are easier to access than the chassis battery on our ACE. I do make a point of making sure to be on shore power or genny running when we use the compressor. Perhaps I should hook the compressor up to the toad with the engine running?

Ryobi works great. Tops off rv to 80psi, bikes to 66psi.
I was skeptical at first, but bang for the buck, and storage space required, can't beat it.
I use the Fini to blow the lines to winterize.
Hopes this helps.

Thanks

Thanks for all the replies. I will be purchasing the VIAIR 400P - 40043 Portable Compressor Kit. Tire Pump, Truck/SUV Tire Inflator, For Up to 35 Inch Tires

I have portable compressors, even the Ryobi, but was looking into a unit that I could build into the rv without using storage space.
Thanks again!

I'm glad you found a good compressor. I am posting this for future searches.
In the offroad world the NAPA compressor is very popular but it is continually sold out and mostly impossible to get.

On the Bronco 6gen website. One of the members placed an order to China (yea I know) and ordered in a boat load of the same compressor that NAPA labels for their product. It works and it is cheap. Plus there are a bunch of videos on line about how to mod this compressor to make it work better. I own one and it air up 35 inch tires in minutes and will handle 110 psi with ease. On Bronco6g the guy goes by Tricky Dick. Hundreds of us have bought from him.

I got this one from Harbor Freight

https://www.harborfreight.com/2-gall...sor-64596.html

Price is now $199.00 but it is on sale sometimes. I think I paid somewhere between $160 and $190. I could have gone with a cheaper pancake model but those are often loud enough to wake the dead. Since I will likely be using it in a campground early in the morning I went for a quiet model. One other consideration is the side connector that allows me to connect the air hose through a dryer, so I don't end up pumping water into the tires. With any tank type air compressor always remember to open the drain valve to purge any water condensate and release the air pressure when you are done.

We have one of those along with the (30 amp) 120V to 12V DC cigarette lighter power supply. Works great.
