3d sofa prototype
Before my husband would tear out the dream dinette, he wanted a 3d model of what I wanted. I didn't get what I wanted, but he did tear out the dinette.

So... you will have two couches? Or, recliners where the couch sits? I'd love to have two recliners! But, we still take grand kids out during the summer.

We cut back the drawer and made an L-shaped sofa.

Oh, OK, I saw your pic earlier. Just forgot it was yours. So, you don't have a couch on the passenger side.

No, it is a 22fe, too small for much of anything.

Rhonda. I love your "after" picture but have a couple additional questions. It looks like you simply removed the drawer under the dinette. Is that true. Also what were you able to do to make your passenger seat swivel back to the coach. That would make a great modification to this coach. I have the identical coach and would love to have passenger seat swivel. Finally did you make or buy the cutting board on sink..
I like seeing your modifications because we have the same coach and are not so creative
Carol

Cliff cut the drawer shorter and put better rails on it. The other seat now opens for storage and the space between the original seats will be made into bins for water and 2 t.v. trays.
The seat has a swivel base attached to a plate that attaches to the original plate, but it is moved back 3 in. And toward the center so I can swivel easily.
There is a post about seats that shows the plates.

Cliff made the cutting board with 5/4 oak glued up. He routed the edges buy didn't drill finger holes yet or seal the surface.

Carol, after the first white knuckle trip, cliff added a steering stabilizer and sway bar. Then we tried to trade it in for a larger model but the trade in value once you drive it off the lot was only 45k. So now we don't care about hurting the trade in value.
2nd trip (15 hr. Drive) I cut my mattress apart so I could sleep during the trip.
3rd. We added 2 layers of sound deadening and insulation on the dog house so we could talk without screaming.
4th. Added tire pressure moniters, side cameras, and a tool box and bike rack on the bumper with supports.
Then we put in the new heated, leather, massaging, lumbar, 6way power seats with a swivel for me. Instant happiness.
Then we removed the horrid dream dinette that was designed for normal sized adults and kids. We wanted more space to spread put and relax.
We put a shower door to replace the curtain. Added a tv in the bedroom. Added shoe pockets to bathroom wall for storage. Solar panel.
Needless to say we are keeping this till it falls apart, then we will park it as a guest house.

I am really pleased with the new slotted metal hanger that runs perpendicular to the existing rod and fits to the roof. Now my clothes can hang without folding and wrinkling. I live the clip and hook hanger in the bathroom for towels and hanging clothes.

Removing the dinette seat behind the driver seat, made it possible to move the base back 3 in. Now he is more comfortable when driving. We make 15 hr. Drives to new orleans 4x a year, an a 10 hr. Drive to Disney as often as we can.

I took out the jackknife sofa in our 31W and put in two small size Lazyboys. Worked great, took out the center seatbelt and use the other two to hold them in while driving.

We wanted the 31w, absolutely loved the size and layout. But we screwed up and now we are stuck with 22fe for now. Hope to make money on hhgregg stock with their new online store so we can get a superc.

We were going to get a super c 35sd but then couldn't justify the extra 45 grand just for the diesel engine. We had a F250 diesel with our 5th wheel so we figured we would want that for the motorhome as well. But then we drove the 31W with the V10 and it seems to have plenty of power even pulling our car. We went to Florida from WI last winter and had no problems pulling mountains. My father in law was behind me with his Chevy diesel and 5th wheel and was surprised I could pull the mountains at speed like that. As far as mileage the diesels only get 2-3 better and with the 45k savings we figured it would never pay off. Inside space is the same also. The extra 4 ft of the Super c is almost all in the hood. I think you gain about 1.5 in the coach, that's it. Don't get me wrong if money were no object I would have a super c myself but it would be one on a Freightliner chassis.

I agree, I don't want to pay more for the rv, the 31w is still my preference.

Yeah we love ours and would recommend to anyone. Seems like a perfect size. Easy to get in and out of places but still enough space inside. Perfect size for the two of us and three cats.
