My Axis headlights R better than yours

Decided to install JW Speaker headlights on our 2022 Axis. To my knowledge they are at least as good as any 5.75 inch headlight produced for use in the USA. The only way that I know to get better lighting would be to go to the 7 inch headlamp but that is difficult on the Axis.

This is a fairly easy job and does not require speciality tools.

Steps: Remove the 4 nuts holding the factory bezel being careful to not damage this as it costs over $300 to get a factory replacement. The 4 bolts locations are marked with red

Remove all the factory lighting and then center new mounting bracket. These headlights do not fit the factory bracket. Factory is held on with screws we used #6 machine screws and lock nuts

The bracket needs to be straight or the headlight cut off when aiming them can not be horizontal. We used a level and drilled new mounting holes to achieve this

Picture rotated when we uploaded it. We checked horizontal level.

Depending on where the existing factory mounting plate is and how careful you are the headlight may need to have the fiberglass trimmed or as we did, the headlight bezel needed trimmed with tin-cutters.....sheet metal scissors.
After this remount the factory bezel....trim more places or recenter light as needed.

The JW Speaker website has good aiming instructions. We don't have a very good place to do this ourselves, so we may take ours to a place with an electronic aimmer (Beamsetter) to insure they are perfect.

If we have to, or want to drive at night we can now do so as safely as is possible with the current USA technology. The Fed DOT has begun the process to allow lazer headlights to be used in the USA. That will be a vastly but costly improvement to what is currently available for USA drivers.

Drive safe

Model 8630 family has a few variations..
Ours is the 0550921. Just a simple hi/low beam.
DOT specification.

Looks like all the photos rotated when they got posted. Is this something I did or does the websites software cause this?

The website reads the embedded metadata in the picture and rotates it as the metadata dictates. The PC doesn't do that.
