Sold the house, on the road!

We got serious about selling the house in Boston after returning from our 3 month rv trip in late March.
Building a new home in Charlotte, NC area which will not be ready until early next year so we are full time on the road!
Left Massachussetts on 7/14 with no plan other than to head out west after tending to business in Charlotte.
Decided that it is too hot to go west so we headed north and after stops in Boone, NC and Tennesee we found ourselves in Elkhart.
Time to tour the factory.
Very cool to see.
Interesting to learn that even with a $14 billion backlog, they only run 1 shift as that's all the people they can hire.

Next up: An unplanned visit to Wakarusa!

We are heading West tomorrow across the Midwest on I70 and will be running the generator and at least air conditioners plus the dash
Prefer not to travel in the heat but sometimes it don't work that way

One other tip on hot weather travel, it isn't the time to have under inflated tires

Just left Wyoming and South Dakota and temps were knocking on the door of 100 degrees. The saving grace was the near constant 15 mph winds.

So, we toured the factory and were staying the night at the RV/MH Hall of Fame/Museum in Elkhart. Free boondocking in the parking lot. Yes, the museum is worth a visit if you are in the area. It is also next to the Furrion office that has the huge RV with the Helicopter on the top! For us, the Furrion office was closed so we could only see it thru the windows.

I called Thor Cust Svc and asked if I would be able to see a service tech if I stopped by. I have a few concerns and issues with my Chateau 23U and figured that this might be a good opportunity to have things evaluated. Was informed that someone would look but not be able to fix that day! (of course).

Oh my, what an operation. Lots of folks getting their rigs repaired. Many staying on site.

We waited about an hour, took the time to dump and fill and Dean came out to take a look.
After taking a look, Dean tells me the bad news is that both wing walls need to be replaced and perhaps more once things are disassembled. He can't give a price and it is too late in the day to speak to the service writer for a quote.
We were told by a few employees that it is fine to stay overnight if we wanted but felt that it was time to move on and hope to speak to the service writer to get a quote and then schedule an appointment.
So, some bad but not unexpected news but nothing that will delay the trip.

Anyone know how much to replace a wing wall?

These are the dog days of summer

However, for you and me…we can always go to California beaches to beat the heat

We are in northern Michigan, near Mackinaw City. Heading to the island tomorrow.
Highs today were in the 70's. Lows tonight in the 50s.
No fires here.
Very comfortable.
