36 cat scale
Finally weighed my rig.2018 36rssb3.Truck only full of fuel-5140 steer,3620 drive.Truck full of fuel and 5er -5080 steer,7340 drive,16700 trailer, gross 29120.I had a swivel wheel trailer along with 700lb. bike on it, that axle did not get weighed.Fresh water fill at 83% grey and black empty.I am a little over max trailer weight now which is 20k.I think the next step may be go to a rally and have trailer wheels weighed separate to make sure its somewhat even?Is this normal to be over on max trailer weight?Rig measures level and pulls nice.Any comments are welcome.Thanks,Jim

Why would your steering axle weigh less with RV attached? You have a short bed truck with pin behind center of rear axle?
Very normal to be over your 8k axle rating. I am WAYYYY over at 17,500# on my two axles. MORryde has inspected my IS and is still well within their specs.

I would think that with the rig attached, the weight of the hitch would lighten the load off the front tires, hence the reduction in weight difference. Just thinking aloud!

No, only way this would happen is if the center of the hitch pin location is behind the centerline of the rear axle.
With my B&W hitch full forward I add less than 200# to my front axle even tho my pin weight is around 5,700#.

I have longbed truck.i have comfortride hitch which comfortride installed.I should be ok on trailer tire ratings IF weight is distributed somewhat evenly between the 4 tires.Thats why i think i need to find a place to weigh all 4 tires separate.

Maybe i should ask comfortride if we can move hitch forward a little to add some weight to front axle.Hitch is mounted to rails.

My guess is that it's related to the lever that your swivel wheel trailer makes. Attached to the back, even with independent wheels, it will cause this. Easy to unhook and find out. No big deal either way.

Spoke with rick from comfortride hitch.Went over weights with him.He told me to leave setup alone.Ive pulled trailers all my life,just nothing this heavy.Thanks for all the quick responses.Jim

I'd agree with something doesn't seem just right. King-pin should always increase steering axle weight even if only a couple hundred pounds.
Center of pin should be 1>" forward of drive axle center line.
Not that it would effect the steering axle. Seems you should be able to position the axles on the scale pads to indicate the tandem loads & the swivel for that matter. Just out of curiosity.

Honestly I would question him WHY you should leave it alone. Industry standard for MANY years is to have kingpin about 2" forward of centerline of rear axle.
If I am not mistaken it's not easy to change hitch position with that unit???

Hi kannon, I know this is a little late, but just noticed it, and am curious. I have a 2017 36RSSB3 and your trailer weight caught my attention. At 16.7k and probably 3k in the bed, your'e pushing about 20k. My axle weight is 14.3k fully loaded with washer/dryer, solar, 6 batteries, water, etc, and I'm just wondering how yours is over 2k more than mine. I, too, pull a single swivel wheel with custom made metal cover, 2 large generators, and gas.

Not sure how to answer that Clev,was weighed at cat scale.I have glass roof washer and dryer granite countertops was full of water trunk full of usual tools,9k axles..d.r.v. has a empty weight of 17,400 sticker on it.I only have 2 batteries,no genny no solar.

Thank you, Kannon. I have questioned DRV weights since mine was delivered at 16.3k empty and 8k axles. Other 36RSSB3's, are in the 15k range. The fiberglass roof added a few hundred pounds, but that does not account for the difference. We've been pretty good at loading lightly and keeping the total weight down to a little over 18k.

No,its a mobile suite.We specd out an elite,but for what we wanted it worked out better for us to add elite options and other items Alicia kitchen etc.etc..Its a highly elited mobile.
