6 volt batteries

Just pulled my batteries on my 18 MS , no brand name and I didn't get any paperwork on them. Can anyone tell the brand and the maintenance I need to do on them?

They are supposed to be a 'generic' model of the Trojan 1-105 battery. They do look exactly the same as the branded ones except for color and labels.
Keep the batteries clean and watch for corrosion around the terminal connections--might consider one of the battery post corrosion prevention felt discs if you notice problems. Check the water level (use only distilled water) about every 6 months, more often if you see the levels going down faster.
Cleanliness from the start in the battery area will lead to longer life and less rust/corrosion on the tray/parts.
Congrats on the new trailer--we have a '15 RSSA, and it has been a good one so far.

Do you leave them in the rv or remove them during winter? Do u leave them hooked to a battery tender?

Do you have access to having the trailer plugged into 50/30/15amp during storage?
If you can run a heavy duty (12ga min, 10ga better) extension cord from a house outlet to the trailer, using the 50/30/15 amp adapters, that will take care of everything, as the converter (converter/inverter if equipped) will automatically keep the batteries at proper charge.
Where abouts are you located? Gonna get cold? Have you winterized? If not in a warmer-than-freezing area, then you are going to have to winterize the plumbing system.

I'm good with plumbing, just never had 6 volt batteries before. I took them out and hooked them up to a battery tender.

Actually 6 volt batteries are no different than 12v batteries. They are all made with 2 volt cells. 6 volt batteries have 3 of the cells while 12v batteries have 6. They are all wired in series. You probably have 2 of the 6 v batteries connected in series which would be the same as one 12v battery.

Different battery manufacturers may have physical differences in the batteries, but they are all basically the same. The quality may differ.

I agree but I also treated the terminals and other connections in the rig with terminal protectant spray. I also added a battery watering system to make filling the battery quick and easy.

Your battery watering system sure looks great. It must be a real time saver. Just a quick question: How do you know when water is needed or how much to add? Sometimes, the amount of water I have had to add differs from one cell to another.

Those of us with this type of hydro system(s), generally on a time frequency (monthly, quarterly, etc.) hook up a small hand pump via a quick-connect fitting. After a few squeezes the bulb gets firm. Each of those replacement caps has an individual float valve that tops the cell to the appropriate level.
Our flooded cell system(s) generally use more water during warmer weather or during more active cycles. So monthly during summer.

generic model

Trojan sells a Hydro-Link cap system
