How do Full Timer's cope with inflation ?

[PLEASE.. Lets Keep Politics' & Who's "Willie" is Biggest Out of This]

We live Full Time in our 'shack and are on a fixed income.
As the costs of everything is climbing..
I would like to know how others are adjusting their spending habits and travels.

We have had to adjust from traveling every day or each week, to utilizing the less "Ritzy-Glitzy" monthly stays in the less popular & farther from the touristy areas..
We are trying to keep the camping/lodging costs under $550 [all in] per month...
We try to limit ourselves to dining out & spending no more than $20, once a week, same amount for entertainment.

How are You Coping?

The responses you get will be heavily influenced by the income/wealth of the poster. Tolerance of inflated prices is directly related to how much it affects the personal bottom line. So for some it's carry on as usual; for others it's a struggle.

Everybody copes by paying more for everything. Some can afford to do it and not change a thing and others have to make major changes. Propane and all other fuels cost 30%-75% higher than last year and when the infrastructure bill is signed everybody using natural gas will have a tax increase on top of the price increase.

Chateau said it correctly.

Recreational rv'r will carry on.
Necessity rv'r will not.
You cut it too close.

Inflation shouldn't have begun to hurt you yet.
Gas prices still aren't much higher than recent past, food is adjustable. Mcdonalds still has dollar items.

I plan for the worst PLUS 10% WORSE or I don't execute the plan. And even 50% worse if it's something threatening.

Some grasshoppers fiddle occasionally, some all the time.
Rv life is fiddling.

I aimed this thread towards those who are Full Timers.. and specifically asked that this thread would not become a bragging forum of whose willie [financial status] was greater.. BUT...HERE YOU ARE...

My view isnt an asset.

A lesser view is a detriment.

I did not mention financial status.
I spelled out
Knowing (or ignoring) your limitations.
Be they $1,000 monthly or $100,000 monthly.

Knowing some RV people are recreational full timers and some are necessity full timers will be vital to the conversation.

For the record
My willie is:
Small
Friendly
It has never hurt anyone(though Lord knows it has tried)
Relentless pounding is its only game.

Parked in a warmer climate. Useless fuel and enjoy the weather.

No change to plans for us. Notified our site lease will increase 3 percent and no longer get a paid in full discount.

No big deal because we’ve had an excellent financial advisor for years.

I'm going to ask a maybe pertinent question:

Why did
Fixed income
Become code for
'too close for comfort'?

Aren't all salaried, and most hourly folk and all retired and trust-fund folk on a
Fixed income?
Everyone but the waged folk can plan ahead by YEARS.

I have never understood and have never asked.
I'm asking. Help me understand.

I could google it, but it would be unsatisfying.
To me a fixed income would be the grandest thing ever.

Good point. The definition of fixed income is that it is a class of financial investment funds.

Back on topic, please.

We're not fulltimers.

Do you do none, some or all of your maintenance AND repair?
There is lot of $$$ by doing oil, filters, even more in leak repair ETC

Lower cost camping and less expensive entertainment

Yep, unless you are 100% REALLY disabled or are already working 80+ hours a week your income is variable.
