Tire replacement valve extensions
It's time to change the tires on out 2016 29.4 ACE. During our time with the old tires (it came with valve extensions) we had to replace the rear valve extensions once because the tires were losing air and they determined the extensions were the issue.
What experience have others had with valve extensions? I might not 100% need them but they sure make life easier...

I replaced my extensions with The Dually Valve System setup that is six all brass/chrome plated individual valve stems. Two of the rear are long enough to come to the outside of the outer wheel making it simple to check the air and providing a metal valve that won't flop around for any TPMS system. It is a little pricey at $150 or so for all six, but it is not going to leak on you. Mine was sold and installed by a local tire dealer. As far as I am concerned, this is the only way to go.

Not directly. They are made by Borg so I did a search on Borg Dually valve and found a ton of sites including this one. Maybe you can get the part number there and then see if there is someone around you who sells/installs.

My RV is the same year as the OP's. I have braided valve stem extensions. I have replace one due to leakage several years ago. No problems since or with the other extensions.
For the OP - this is what I purchased and used:
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B083RB6MM4?th=1
Under $10 for two so I still have a spare.

I had braided extensions on my last coach and they leaked. I took them off and learned how to use a proper dual foot air gauge and chuck. My current coach had braided extensions on it when I bought it. I figured if they leaked that's okay, I'll just take them off and use the dual foot stuff. Well, six years later they are still on and haven't leaked.

Don't those large metal 'clips' cause balance issues?

I didn't use those clips, I used the ones already on the wheel simulator.

These have the rubber inserts for the rear inner stems to pass through. No crazy clips, stem come with blue loctite and work great!

The expense for those single piece units is ridiculous simply to eliminate one air fitting that 99.9999999% of tires don't have a problem with.
$140 plus the dismount, break, reseat, reinstall.
I've rerouted my flexible extensions three times, that i remember, when I changed to locking caps, when I added my pass through tpms and when I swapped wheels around.
I guess if you need to worry, this all is a good thing to worry about.

For OP, there may be a valid reason why RV Mfgs uses the braided extensions on the rear. For my Mfg it is a part added after received from Ford.
My experience.
When coach was brand new (2019), I had issue with adding air via one of the braided stems. It was painful to add air. Dealer blamed Ford and vice versa. WBGO sent me a brand new OEM part and dealer put on no charge. Last year that same tire valve extension started to slow leak. Discount Tire said they could rebuild or replace the valve extension. Based on the advice of two highly trusted sources above who need not be identified, I bought 4 brand new 7" braided extensions, but I used ebay at cost of $16.
https://www.ebay.com/itm/325295281098
Using the levelers ( sue me) I jacked up the rear, took outside tire off (heavy as hell, I am a no mechanic ) but I put the new braided extension on, it works like a champ. I have 3 spares now. I was wanting to replace the other side, but since it has worked well since day one, I decided to leave it alone.
FWIW, I too used the existing mounting brackets, it works a lot better than the brackets that came with it.
If I were buying new today, I would buy the recommendation above that has the braided extensions plus the 45degree and 135degree steel brackets.
I bought 2 Wheel Master 135degree brackets for my front, and 2 Wheel Master 45degree brackets for the outside rears.
Worth noting that when I had a blowout on right front tire ( no braided extension involved), the repair tech who put my new tire on, only had the integrated truck valves; so it is true valve and not an extension anymore. It is one of the those long ones that has a bend. Works fine just looks odd, I suspect if I were getting new tires I could have it replaced, but it may actually be better with one less part to fail?

Following this thread - I have had the same concerns about mine.

I just replaced my tires on 2016 ace 29.3 . Went to a truck tire shop that also installs a lot of motor home tires. They recommended the Blackhawk BR 26, 16 ply, 150 cheaper than the Toyo’s and others.
The advantage of a tire shop is they have the machine to do a spin balance which is much better than the tire beads other shops use and installed high quality tire stems.

Our Thor "C" came with valve extensions. I had one inside rear tire that simply would not hold air. I tightened the valve extensions and after about 100 miles the inside rear tire would start to lose air. About 5 pounds in 24 hours. I finally gave up and replaced all of the valve extensions. Haven't had a problem since. This is what I installed: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...e?ie=UTF8&th=1

The flexible extensions are rubber hoses (often with a SS braided covering). I'd advise replacing those every few years or use solid valve extenders.
