City water

When connect to city water will not work. I do not see a bypass valve. Have been filling tank and using pump but would rather not. Any ideas what I am doing wrong?

Year/Make/Model of coach might make guesses/answers more useful.

My guess is the city water input check valve is backwards.

2018 Class C 4 winds Thor. Have not been able to locate any valve. My thoughts are that it was incorrectly installed ?

Eliminate some possible causes:

If I'm not mistaken, you likely do not have a "two way" selector valve to route the city water connection to either the "system plumbing" or the fresh water tank. Is that accurate? Those are convenient (often found on travel trailers), but many class C units rely on just a gravity fill for the fresh water tank - without connecting a tank fill option from the city water connection.

Locate your hot water tank plumbing. You will have 3 valves used for winterization purposes. If those valves are closed (in a certain combination) it could prevent water flowing from the hot faucets... HOWEVER - this would be true even when drawing water from your tank, not just city water. Look in that same area for any other water valves that may be turned off... JUST to be sure.

If your city water connection is on a slide out (unfortunately OURS is) you will have a flexible hose that move as the slide goes in and out. Our connection for this is under the left-most (rearward) dinette bench. If this applies, remove the bench cover and check the hose... it may be kinked, blocking the water supply.

It's integrated in the city water connection.

Thanks for your reply. Perplexed because we have a hot water demand system. No hot water tank or valves. City water valve is on main portion of RV and not slideout. Hoping I can stop by a Camping World in our travels to have looked at. Never had this issue with other rigs.

Another problem could be the diverter valve on the pump. If it is stuck on "pump" that might prevent city water to the system. One more thing I would check.

Has it ever worked or is this a newly developed issue?
