Wind Sport 31W

I am looking at a 2016 Wind Sport 31W, is there anything I should look for ? What about any major problems people have had ? if you have one would you buy it again ? This is from an individual not a dealer, I am not new to RV,s just new to a motorhome

No matter how positive or negative you hear: Obtain a complete pre-purchase inspection. This would be of every system, chassis, and mechanical. Even a Renegade or Newell can turn into a POS if not cared for. Also, tire dates. If the tires are original they are outdated regardless of miles.

You need to have an inspection done of both the vehicle(engine/transmission/oil) as well as the coach systems(electrical/batteries/slides...). Look for possible leaks/water damage. It is a lot to try and do yourself. I would pay to have it done. The tires are important and may look great but out lived their safety date.

Find someone who does have experience with a motorhome and take them with you.

If everything checks out with the motor home demand very slow right now donít pay over $40,000 for it.

Good advice from all these members!! Some things are easy to spot and some need to be done by a qualified tech!!! Operate all systems on site like slide-outs, Leveling system, water pump, oven and range, heat and A/C, lights, backup cam, 120v outlets, USB outlets, signs of rodents or bugs, mold or water damage, visual inspection of roof or leaks around skylights or exhaust fans, test drive paying attention to engine noises and transmission function, black, grey and fresh tank condition and smell. If they were not cared for this may be a real issue!! A lot of common sense and professional help will be a good thing. REMEMBER, if it sounds to good to be true, it probably is!!!

ALSO, make a reasonable offer and be willing to walk away. They may stop you before you leave or call you later, it's called, "The Art of the Deal" and it works!!!!!

Amen to the inspection. I just purchased a 2018 Thor ACE. It only had about 3900 miles on it. After purchase I took it for a front alignment check mainly on general principles and because it was a bit harder to keep in the lane on a windy day than I thought it should be. The shop found lose kingpin bushings that needed to be replaced. Apparently, the kingpins were not properly lubricated from the factory and predelivery service was not done either. I never would expect to find this sort of problem on a unit with so few miles. Fortunately, I also bought extended service coverage, I am working on getting the repairs covered. Even if I have to pay the kingpin bushing replacement out of pocket the ACE was a still a good deal so I would have gone through with it anyway. Especially if I was able to knock a few more dollars off the price.

Glad it all worked out brother!!! Things wear out and break especially on a RV so preventative maintainence and some TLC is a must!! KEEP ON TRUCK-IN man; Bob
