Thanks for the walkaround!
Hmmmmm... a closet, OR a bathroom: but not both?
That's an odd choice to make in such a high-end RV.

$171k many good items missing. They are really taking advantage. No generator!

Depending on their capacity: the Lithium batteries could make up for that...

I suppose if you've got to:
take a crap,
wash some clothes,
and get yourself cleaned up:
it could be a marvelous timesaver!

I will say that this RV is a bit confusing to me as well. The MSRP was right around $175K and for that price you have no real kitchen, no AC, no generator, and minimal storage. I agree that without AC or microwave the lithium system should work fine running the RV without the need for a generator (but I need those things). The 40 gallon fresh water tank is also a plus along with the ease of changing out the propane tank.
My guess is that are targeting a solo camper that plans on boon-docking in area that do not exceed 80. They seems to have gone out of their way to make it able to be used in cold weather.

I agree...
But you DO have the chassis A/C. Perhaps that has been pumped to provide more cooling?

To me the PleasureWay site makes the intended use of the Rekon fairly clear. It is for the young and active individual or couple looking for adventure, not for those who prefer sitting inside their motorized “home” watching TV while on a comfy recliner.

It is essentially a tiny toy hauler that can haul bikes, motorcycle, or winter gear to places a regular “motorhome” can not go.

And use of the bed base as large kitchen counter or as work space isn’t a new design, but clever use nonetheless. Different strokes ......

A very minimal camping experience minded person might want this style of coach. It does come with a big cost.

Agree. And a number of those choose to build the van conversion themselves due to high cost, or to customize details that are important to them.

For example, I personally can’t imagine owning a camper van without a microwave, but on the other hand it would take little effort to haul a portable unit inside one of those plastic containers and take it out only when needed.

The issue I see is that it takes a lot more work to live in a small space, and it becomes less desirable as we get older. I’m not quite there yet, but a roomier van would be better for us. Anyway, in my opinion those adventure vans will likely appeal mostly to younger buyers with high incomes. Older retired buyers probably won’t give them a second look.

Nope. A 21-foot ProMaster van has more space than we need if designed the way we want it. Compared to this Sprinter, the extra width would allow sleeping across the coach, which can save a lot of space.

I like the minimalist and also modular design of this Rekon, but realistically would not camp in remote sites requiring 4X4, extra ground clearance, or off-road tires (at least not often enough). While nice to have occasionally, they adversely affect highway driving, handling, and fuel economy.

For touring, traveling, and camping we do, the Rekon has too little dedicated storage that would allow keeping van well organized, something we value after many years of traveling in a small van.

Slides in vans have been tried by various manufacturers, but have not caught on, at least in significant numbers as far as I know.

In my opinion vans are a lot about keeping it simple, and slides are not that.
