RV Warranty Forever inspection question
I have a 2023 Thor Compass 23TW. I will be due for the first yearly inspection as required for the RV Warranty Forever, by July 1, 2024. I want to know if folks find this warranty to be useful and worth maintaining. I will have to pay for an RV inspection to submit and I wonder if this warranty actually is worth the time/effort to maintain. Many thanks,
-Ken

I have done it twice for our 2021 Thor ACE 33.1 Not sure if it is worth it. But it is a requirement for their "forever warranty". They do clean the water heater furnace and inside heater. They also inspect the roof. My gut feeling tells me that if we don't, then they can and will deny any future claims that is supposed to be covered by that warranty. By simply stating we never had our RV inspected.

It wasn't worth it when you paid for it so it's probably still not worth it.

The "Forever Warranty" came with the RV. Not sure if it is a contract between THOR and the Dealer. But there is no additional cost on the price of the RV (at least I did not see in the sales contract). If they factor it in on the selling price, that I cannot tell. The dealer however require the owner to do Annual Inspection (documented). I paid $225 on ours. I don't like to pay them that amount for yearly inspection.
But like I said, I just don't want the dealer to have an excuse to deny any future warranty claim.

Dealer gimmick to inflate cost and rope in unsuspecting buyers. Dealers count on most folks missing the service requirement so they can cancel their warranty. You and only you can read the paperwork you signed and determine if it’s worth it to you.

$500 a year to do a minimum inspection that includes the roof, but they don't cover the roof, or walls, or floor, or engine/transmission/drivetrain, or slides, or hydraulic leveling systems, etc, etc etc.
The list of things they cover is so much shorter than the list of things they don't cover:

It’s not a Thor warranty but a dealer sold warranty. Thor warrants nothing forever.
Thor’s warranty is actually quite good, it’s the dealer performing the repairs that suck.

I have paid to have it done for eight years went from 125 dollars to 250 dollars at blue dog the low drain valve started to leak they refused to pay to fix it. Dealer wants 800 to replace a 7 dollar valve will fix myself.

I don’t even have my RV inspected for the Thor structural frame and delamination warranty. If it is a warranty then you shouldn’t have to pay to have it inspected, that should be included in the cost of the warranty.

The last dealer I walked away from offered this program. Even if I had bought the RV, I would not have signed up for the program because that dealer required the annual maintenance be at their location. In my case dealer was in Houston and I was not about to commit to drive to Houston every year just for routine inspection. It is a very good Marketing pitch and they make a lot of money off the program. But is is like trying to tell someone to NOT waste money on lottery tickets, one can always say they might win and billions of dollars of hard earned money from common folks are just raked in. I would not be surprised if some warranty owner look forward to failures to make them feel like they are getting something in return

Yes it works for some people, some of the time, but not all the people all of the time. It is just like some win at the casinos, but the masses will lose. If the masses did NOT lose, the warranty companies would go bankrupt.
2019 Warranty I DID NOT buy $7,500 for 5 years
2024 I have had ZERO issues where a warranty would have applied, I had one hood mounting bracket failed due to epoxy falling out and it cost me $500 to repair all of the brackets proactively with free goodwill parts that were out of warranty. I was told by the Mfg that an extended warranty would not have covered because those warranties don't cover Mfg workmanship defects.
I have used the $7,500 to buy me all kinds of goodies for the RV, I spent on average about $1,500 per year.
FWIW, I have never bought an extended warranty in my life. Never been unlucky I guess ( knock on wood) I call it a ForNever Warranty

I also passed on the warranty, both from Thor and the extended one the dealer tried to sell. My Hurricane has been in a shop one time. That was a Ford truck shop to get a front end alignment. Anything I can't fix I know of someone that can. Getting an extended warranty company to do anything more than a parts cannon repair is like winning the power ball jackpot.
