DRL at the Campground

I have a 2022 Sequence 20A with the solar panel and Lithium batteries. The generator is mounted to the cab engine. To charge the batteries after dark, away from shore power, I need to run/idle the engine. The problem is that the daytime running lights are always on. Not good in a dark campground or rest stop. The Promaster forums didn't help. Most suggested settings on the radio that was replaced by Thor, or pulling the emergency break, which didn't work. I'm considering installing my own switch. I want the lights on while driving, so pulling the bulbs would not be a practical solution. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

No help with your vehicle but on GM vehicles the headlight switch has a position that turns off the DRL.

Maybe pull the headlight relay? Or fuse?

How long to recharge the batteries? If you only need 10 15 min, why not going for a short drive? So you will also avoid perhaps unwanted engine noise...Just thinking out loud here...

Classic case of the people that design these things and the people that sell them have no experience in the real world of camping or real world use of the products they "engineer". We used to go the drive-in a few years ago...yes, there are a few of them still around. Same issue here...people either didn't know, didn't care or had vehicles whereby the headlights come on when engine running. It stopped us from going back.

Hi,
The DRL are programmed thru the ECU. There is a setting that can be changed in the computer to set this. But you need to reprogram the ECU.
This is something I came across while fixing my Cruise control system and using a free OBD2 service tool called Forscan.

Check with chassis manufacturer not Thor, Thor typically knows nothing about any of the chassis they use.
I haven't had to worry about the DRLs in the last couple vehicles, but prior ones there was a position or a sequence with the headlight switch to easily shut them off.

Thanks for all the suggestions. I was hoping for a simple solution, it looks like there isn't one.

Have you gone through all the vehicle settings?
I set mine to on when the vehicle is in drive

What campground lets you run your generator after dark? I don't want to camp there.

If you have UConnect 2 then the DRL on/off is inside that menu, see video. If you do not have UConnect then the menu between the speedo and tack has the DRL on/off inside the menu. A must for boondocking.
