Auxiliary Propane Connection

2023 Thor Tiburon MB Sprinter 3500

My RV has an auxiliary propane connection with a quick disconnect fitting to attach small appliances. I have a small Coleman grill

Coleman Tabletop 2-in-1 Camping Grill/Stove, 2-Burner Propane Grill & Stove for Outdoor Cooking with Adjustable Burners & Pressure Regulator, 20,000 BTUs of Power for Camping, Tailgating, Grilling https://a.co/d/aC0M8bx

Can some supply me to link with the hose I need to connect my grill to the aux connection?

Yes, but….you do not need the regulator on the appliance. Your RV already has a regulator near the propane tank which drops the pressure down to the low pressure that the RV appliances need.

Is the aux connection before of after the RV propane regulator?

You cannot use the RV regulator and the Coleman regulator together... one or the other.
So either remove the regulator and find an adapter for the grill... or tap into the "high pressure" side of the RV tank (before the regulator). Any propane supply store should help with some items and have ideas. The Coleman part may be harder to find.
Good luck

That stove won't work with the low-pressure gas from your quick-connect. The problem is that the regulator on the stove produces higher pressure than the regulator on your camper. You can make the physical connections if you work pretty hard, but the gas won't have enough pressure to cook.

[edited to clarify] The quick connect and RV appliances normally operate on 11-inches water column (which is a little less than 0.5 PSI). The Coleman type stoves operate on 15 PSI gas pressure (which is over 400-inche water column!). If you have something designed for the green bottles, it isn't going to work well (or at all) on the RV system.

The only thing the low-pressure quick connect can be used for is grills (that normally work with a standard 11-inch column regulator), griddles (like Blackstone versions that also use a standard tank and regulator) or special, low-pressure, stoves like this: https://www.amazon.com/Camplux-Propa.../dp/B083DBXSZG Notice that this low-pressure stove has fairly low BTU burners.

If you like your stove, buy something like this refill kit that gives you legally refillable 1 LB bottles and carry a spare or two when you travel. That's what I did.

David

Didn't say what parts he needs. Just show him some doors.
All depends what he is hooking up. If I was teaching, i would show him the real charcoal way!! MacDaddy doesn’t do petrol cooking! Woot!!

This is one way to tap into the high pressure side of the propane system. A "T" connector can be inserted between the tank and the regulator. I installed one on my Class A to give me high-pressure through a Coleman-type connector AND it allows me to bring in an auxiliary propane tank to expand capacity if I'm parked for a while (and at home).

You need to contact the manufacturer for the adapter bits.
I did the same thing with my Coleman Traveller grill.

I have tried EVERYTHING to make the exterior quick connect useful. Tried getting a replacement hose for my grill without a regulator, tried a grill designed with no regulator, had the dealer inspect the exterior quick connect, told it works as it should. I gave up, use refillable bottles like previous poster did. It seems to be a pretty useless feature

Gotta ask: Did you open the upstream valve?

I contacted Coleman directly and told them what I wanted to do. Sold me a converter kit for my Coleman Traveller propane grill. I can now use my RV propane connection for my Traveller grill.

I learned about that one when I had that exterior propane valve replaced for a recall. Tried to heat dinner on a rainy night outside Mojave. No propane to stove, no heat, no hot water. called Thor the next day, they immediately told me to crawl underneath and look for that valve. Dealer turned it off without saying anything, and since vehicle was new to me didn't know it was there. Now I know. So, yes, I wish it was that easy. I do get propane thru the valve, just not enough to actually make my outsides stove and grill work
