2017 Thor ACE door code
A year ago I purchased my 2017 Thor ACE 29.8 (or something close to that length) used, and the people who owned it before us gave us the door code. However..it never really worked.
My wife uses this to live in while she travels for work and has accidently locked herself out at least twice because sometimes the door locks itself when it gets shut! I didn't believe it until it happened to me. Luckily she was inside the RV and opened the door. The obvious solution is to carry keys at all times, but this is annoying when you go in and out while cooking or cleaning, etc.
Anyhow, am I SOL when it comes to getting the door code to work? I've installed a new battery for it and it appears I can't reset it.

It's not an OEM lock.

oh interesting. So the previous owner had this installed?
Mine looks like this. It has a key FOB too, but those have also never worked.

Try contacting RVLock.com to find out how to reprogram the lock to a code you want to use. You might be able to find a YouTube video on programing the lock since it replaced the original factory door lock.

My lock did it again this weekend on me. I contacted the company and learned how to reset the key code and sync the key fob, but they informed me that the lock that locks on its own is not motorized. They're curious as to why this is happening because only the deadbolt is motorized.

I would be taking this lock apart to see what is going on. It will leave you locked out.

yep. I'm talking with the company about disabling the secondary paddle lock, and i'm also ordering a second set of keys, and i'm sticking them someplace under my rv with a magnet case.

I used this information to remove the latch handle, and then I removed all the inner workings of the paddle lock. The exterior still looks the same, but internally, the only lock remaining is the dead bolt.
Problem solved! Too bad it had to come to this, but even the company says that the paddle lock is not secure by any means.
